The Process Engineer will be responsible for complete part process and development including: quality, tooling, equipment purchase and installation, proofing for errors, part tracking, part follow up, and project management. The Process Engineer will determine the complete tooling requirements to produce a world class manufactured part, including costs estimates, and vendor quotations. Procure all required tooling and equipment including specifying the type and quantity of machine required for each operation, required tooling, fixtures, and gauges. Determine the proper take time and the number of pieces per hour that can be produced. Assist in design of special tools. Work with responsible parties for equipment arrangement and installation. Manage engineering changes for production parts after launch. Provide time studies with information needed for labor cost estimates. Provide planning with information regarding starting dates, changeover dates and production capacity. Investigate customer, production suggestions/issues and work with team leaders to support production to make improvements. Keep informed on the latest methods of manufacturing and improved machinery design. Initiate continuous quality improvements using Kaizens and other quality improvement tools (the term "tools" includes patterns, dies, jigs, fixtures, machine tools or special equipment). Engage in the initial phases of engineering to determine the complete machine and tooling required for complex or comprehensive operations on production parts and assemblies. Perform general duties described for process engineers, including the completion of complex and comprehensive projects.
